Today, new areas of expertise are developing in the department: aeronautical maintenance, plane dismantling with Bartin Aero Recycling (subsidiary of Veolia), the Airport Fire Service Training Centre (C2FPA),... This expertise, which is complementary both to airport activity (freight, pilot training,...) and to the activities of companies within the aeronautical sector, offers real potential for economic development in Indre. Officially launched by some thirty companies in the aeronautical sector in France’s Central region on 17th May 2009, the Aérocentre aims to develop, federate and innovate in the field of aeronautics at a national and international level. The Aérocentre is a collective project which intends to valorise the sector and promote its member companies’ expertise. The Aérocentre is a broad-ranging aeronautical resource, conveniently located between Paris and Toulouse. It is a meeting point for high-performance SMC, large groups and public research and global solutions, in response to the demands of aircraft constructors and operators. |
