  • The agricultural sector: Agriculture covers nearly 60% of the department’s surface area, some 6,300 farms of which over half are dedicated to growing cereal crops. 1/5th of agricultural plots are reserved for oleaginous crop production.
  • The wood sector is represented by the Berry firm, Les Bois Chauds, and their wood platform at Ardentes from which they provide a  range of services: fire wood supply, lumber spraying, cut wood drying, compressed wood,...
  • The straw industry: Berry Energy Biomasse With a non-negligible resource: 800,000 tonnes of straw produced in Champagne Berrichonne, the straw is used in eco-construction (Strawtec produce panels of compressed straw) and bio-energy.
  • The vegetable oil industry with Bioléa who produce bio-lubricants from high-oil-content sunflower plants.

A major project for the department: The Ozans bussiness park
A business park of 508 hectares that will welcome secondary and tertiary sector companies.  The park initiative, which includes all the major considerations associated with sustainable development; will achieve lasting development not only in economic and social, but also in environmental terms.

The Ozans business park will be connected to the rail network.
